Posted on 10 May 2018 by RetailStaffing.ie

To make it easier for you and your HR or Social team we have put together some of our favourite team building ideas in Ireland, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Ireland

Be Lords and Ladies of the manor at  Rosedale House, Rathsallagh Country House, Mount Wosley or Mount Juliet

Rosedale House is a Georgian Manor with two smaller guests houses onsite. Hire the whole venue to make it an ideal choice for workshops, executive and business meetings, conferences or corporate events. The main house even boasts its own bar and nightclub – perfect for unwinding after a day of meetings.

Rathsallagh Country House is set on acres of land making it an ideal venue for outdoor activities like archery, break out games and rock climbing. Rathsallagh offers luxurious spa treatments and gourmet menus to help your staff unwind after all that running around.

Also boasting extensive grounds, Mount Wolseley is a venue with ample space for outdoor activities. No stranger to corporate events, Mount Wolseley has 13 conference, meeting and dining suites and 143 bedrooms. Not only will the Mount Wolseley team host your team building event, but they will also work with Ireland’s top team building companies to assist you in planning the ultimate team get-away.

Whether you are looking to organise a busy event with back to back workshops or a wellness retreat, Mount Juliet can easily accommodate your needs. The estate has a choice of six rooms, all equipped with AV and wireless technology catering for up to 220 guests. All event spaces can be adapted for a wide variety of business and social events, from conferences to private dinners. This is a venue with something for everyone – you can try horse riding, fishing, pampering, golf, archery and falconry all within the Mount Juliet estate.

England

Conservation Volunteering

The National Trust offers corporate volunteering days around the UK, including Clent Hills near Birmingham and Alderley Edge, Cheshire. The National Trust relies on volunteers to help protect the nation’s wildlife and green spaces and say “Getting away from the office can help bring your team closer together, increase productivity and reduce stress levels”.

Competitive Team Challenges

Head to Newcastle to try Espionage Missions team building events. These fast-paced urban challenges incorporate modern technology and are set around the centre of the city. Your group will be split into teams, who will compete against one another to complete various challenges.

Is there anything else that can bring a team together like the Crystal Maze? Based on the popular TV series of the same name, these themed team days can be found countrywide.

Northern Ireland

Inspired by the filming of medieval TV show Game of Thrones on Castle Ward demesne in Northern Ireland, you can now take your team to experience what it’s like to be part of the cast and crew. You can even meet the direwolf dogs.

With its outstanding natural beauty, Northern Ireland is an ideal location for getting your colleagues outdoors to enjoy some fresh air. Activities to choose from to bring your team together include orienteering, climbing, gliding and horseriding.

Wales

Stand up paddle boarding (SUPing)

You’re never more than 50 miles from the cost in Wales so there are plenty of places to try paddle boarding, such as Masterclass in Pembrokeshire, Funsport on Anglesey and SUP Wales on the South Coast

Ziplines and tree-top adventures

The adrenaline junkies in your midst will just at the opportunity to try the world’s longest Zipwire in Snowdonia or the UK’s biggest Tarzan swing at Go Ape near Port Talbot

Scotland

Head to Glasgow for a Den of Dragons teambuilding experience. Teams join forces for a half-day of creative thinking, with just a few hours to transform a brand new idea into a prototype, complete with a catchy name and a marketing plan to get it noticed. Competitors will create a 30-second advert using props and costumes, and negotiate a great deal on resources to make the right profits, before stepping up to present their ideas to the judges.

Loch Lomond is one of Scotland’s most popular leisure destinations. Take your team to the stunning national park to try all manner of skills and activities, including archery, kayaking or old-school sports days.

Closer to Scotland's east coast, HorseBack UK has developed a programme focused on bringing together the business and military communities. By using the principles of both military life and horsemanship on which HorseBack UK is founded, a bespoke course has been created to teach leadership and team-building.

We hope this information is helpful and makes planning your team event that bit easier. Please note that the ideas and suppliers mentioned in this blog post are suggestions and not endorsements.
