On behalf of a leading multi-national grocery retail chain, we are recruiting for a self-motivated and self-driven Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in running the day-to-day operations of one of their stores in Charleville, County Cork.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with customer service at their heart, positive mindset and real appetite for progression within the group as this role will convert to Store Manager in time.

The ideal candidate for this position will come with minimum 2 years' experience from a fast-paced convenience or grocery retail environment with strong people management skills and hands-on approach.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the store's management team.
  • Assist the Store Manager in the day to day running of busy store.
  • Manage a team of up to 15-20 staff when on duty.
  • Ensuring that the store is ready for business on a daily basis to the required standards.
  • Ensuring the highest quality product is displayed at all times in all departments.
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Staff management and development.
  • HACCP duties.
  • Keyholder duties
  • Product displays.
  • Staff training.
  • Security awareness.
  • Stock ordering and control.
  • Delivering excellent store standards consistently.
  • Ensuring store standards are implemented and achieved.
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Motivate, develop and retain store assistants within a fast-paced environment.
  • To ensure the food safety and HACCP procedures are adhered to at all times.

Experience / Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' management experience required but full training provided.
  • 3rd Level Business/Retail Management Qualification beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong leadership, team management and time management skills.
  • Hunger for success and growth.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multitask.
  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service.
