Store Manager - Waterford (Work-life Balance)

€40000 - €45000 per annum DOE

One behalf of a high-profile and a well-established interior design & home decor client in Ireland I'm searching for an ambitious Store Manager or an experienced Assistant Manager ready to step up and help drive business forward in one of their high-performing Stores in Waterford.

Working as a Store Manager you will develop and lead a professional retail sales team to ensure the smooth running of the business, achievement of store KPI's and 100% customer satisfaction.

You will be responsible for all functions of the store including sales, customer service and inventory, hiring and mentoring teams, discipline, and scheduling of employees to ensure cost effective and quality operations.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day operations of the store to ensure the delivery of all KPIs.
  • To deliver store sales within budget, by leading a resourced, motivated and engaged team.
  • To delegate and communicate effectively with the retail sales team to ensure necessary tasks are completed to an appropriate level.
  • Drive training and development for store members and overall team.
  • Work closely with the Head of Retail & Head of Marketing to ensure marketing strategies and understood and being met.
  • To ensure that the retail strategy developments are implemented in the Store and fully communicated to and understood by the team.
  • To fully understand commercial performance, driving sales and maximising margins and profits.
  • Deliver effective succession plans throughout the team in order to deliver progression and manage vacancies in the store.
  • Develop the team through proactive personal development plans which are formally reviewed annually and informally on an ongoing basis as and when required.
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service in store at all times.
  • Ensure accurate space and product strategy to drive sales.
  • Drive out performance of sales budgets through analysing relevant reports and coaching the Store team.
  • Develop and maintain strong awareness of the local market and competitors and exploit opportunities.
  • Drive for sustained improvements on reducing poor performers.
  • Take ownership and drive effective communication in the store and to the Head Office, always leading by example and ensure communication is timely and consistent.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures relating to security of company monies and stock are strictly adhered to at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years strong retail experience in a managerial position.
  • Operational knowledge of FMCG retail environment essential.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent display and presentation skills.
  • Strong numerical and IT skills are required.
  • Excellent people management skills in all areas of performance management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new situations.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and delegate effectively.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the Head of Retail/Senior Management.
