Retail Food Store Manager Navan

Navan, Meath
€40000 - €48000 per annum

A huge opportunity has arisen in Navan for an ambitious, imaginative and strongly customer focused self-starter to manage all day-to-day operations in this exciting new store which will be a customer led business offering unique choice and value. This is a great opportunity with vast scope for career progression as the company is expanding rapidly and is planning to open the similar retail outlets dedicated to the provision of a large and diverse range of Chilled, Ambient, Frozen and Dry food products to the general public nationwide.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years' experience at front line store management or department management level in a fast-paced convenience or grocery retail environment. You'll take pride in contributing to a newly opened store operations which is exceptionally presented, welcoming and engaging for the customers, team members and local community.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the performance and profitability of high volume and fast paced business.
  • Responsibility for people management in conjunction with creative merchandising and store presentation.
  • Managing staff, orders, deliveries, rotas and wastage.
  • Instilling an element of innovation into the role.
  • Ensuring store high standards are implemented and achieved.
  • Driving high levels of customer satisfaction and likelihood to recommend.
  • Stock ordering and control responsibilities.
  • Identify store's needs by using and analysing daily and weekly sales reports.
  • An agreed reporting schedule to senior company management.
  • Key holding responsibilities.
  • To drive a one team culture which celebrates success and puts our team members health, safety and wellbeing first.
  • Ensure excellent customer service is delivered consistently in store.
  • Delivering excellent store standards consistently.


  • 3 years' minimum experience managing a team in a fast-paced retail grocery environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organics industry and real passion for the foods.
  • A demonstrated ability to implement new ideas and try new things to drive sales will be essential.
  • A proven knowledge of delivering margin, controlling waste and driving sales is essential.
  • Experience rostering, delegating and managing staff teams.
  • Experience organizing and conducting monthly stock takes.
  • Possession of a full understanding of HACCP/Food Safety requirements in a retail food environment.
  • A strong understanding of retail store KPI's.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of the team.
